Welcome
to Just Imagine

Just Imagine

Is a multi-genre site where you can play a multitude of characters. There is not an overall plot or setting, as you create those when you set up threads with other members. Joining is simple - you post up a member intro outlining what sorts of things you're looking for and what you're not and your posting preferences.

Once you've posted that up you can get started on creating character accounts, which we'll go into a bit more further in this guide.

Our Goal

is to have a safe, friendly, relaxed, and open environment for people to write in. No pressure, no post requirements beyond what you set up with your writing partners, and the freedom to create whatever you can imagine.

Many Playstyles

are expected here, which we'll go into further as well. Please be sure to read through each post in this thread as it sums up the basics for writing here. There are further resources pinned in the appropriate forums to help you get set up once you've joined! questions please post in this thread and tag me.

The Rules
Our Basic Guidelines Are Here

We are 21+. *

We are rated 333 on the RPG Rating Scale. We also have a tentative 21+ age limit. All of our current writers are either in university or are working in their career path or job of choice. Due to this and the age range of those here currently, we expect a certain level of maturity and understanding when it comes to people's offline lives.

* While we are tentatively 21+, if you are at least 18 and feel that you can be patient and understanding of those in different, oftentimes busier life stages, we are willing to welcome you on a trial basis.

Everyone is welcome.

We welcome folks from all walks of life. This is a safe space for minorities. Hate speech is never okay and will not be tolerated here. Heated discussions are welcome, so long as they do not cross into hateful rhetoric. They must be kept to the specified forum only. A separate set of rules will be posted there.

If you ever feel uncomfortable with a topic, requesting to drop or change the subject is perfectly acceptable. The staff team's DMs are always open as well, so if you are uncomfortable with a situation and need someone to step in, or even just need to talk about it, reach out, please.

No 3-Strike system.

While the 3-Strike system works well some places, we don't feel it is the best option for us. We operate on a case-by-case basis. Each situation will be evaluated and handled in what the staff team feels is the most appropriate way for the site as a whole.

The severity and frequency of offenses will be considered when making decisions on the proper handling of a situation. Please always feel free to reach out to the staff if you need help or have questions about something onsite, the discord, or other places set up for the members of the community.

We do not delete content.

To preserve the continuity and integrity of the stories being told, we do not delete any content onsite. Please keep this in mind when joining and posting your stories and roleplays here.

OOC accounts are required.

Please join with an OCC (Out of Character) account first, as this is required to use the character switcher system. Canon character names may not be used for OOC accounts.

Please register character accounts.

As canon characters are allowed, there may be multiple people using the same character. Because of that, everyone after the first to register will need to use another username - think something rp.me or tumblr-esque - to identify your specific version of that character. Original characters can do the same but may also use their names. Further details of the character registration process can be found in this same forum.

A player intro is next.

Because of the nature of this site, player intros/profiles are necessary. They give a directory of everyone onsite and what each of us is interested in, when we're normally online, and other such things. This area is where you can also post a wants and limits thread to indicate comfort levels with various aspects of roleplaying.

No character limit.

As this is meant mostly as a 1x1 and small group-based site, we don't limit character numbers per player. We also don't require full bios. All you need to do is post up a stat/info post with the basics and you're good to go! The only exception to this is mini-games. Each of those has its own rules as to what they want from their players. You'll need to check out the info sections of the ones you're interested in for more info.

Dohtml & BBCode allowed.

Codes to adjust how your posts look are allowed. Please don't lower the text size below the default onsite, or use low contrast text and backgrounds, as it strains everyone's eyes. Beyond that, just don't break the width on the site, or otherwise use anything that adjusts anything beyond the post section itself.

Content warnings are required.

There is a list of squicks and triggers in the wants/limits area. Please use the form to request any you need added and review the list. These are required to write here, as many people rely on them to decide whether they want to view or participate. We do not allow sexual situations for any characters under 18, nor do we allow content involving anyone or thing that cannot consent. This is a one and done ban if violated. 333 content is allowed everywhere onsite, but staff are always willing to review something if it makes you uncomfortable to see if it falls within the rules. Please reach out for that and if you have questions about whether something is allowed or not.

No activity requirements.

As stated above, due to this being a site that focuses on 1x1 and small group stories and threads, we have no activity requirements. How often you post is entirely up to you. We recommend setting expectations at the start of a story/thread with partners so everyone is on the same page. Mini-games set their own expectations as well, and may have rules regarding activity levels - this is entirely up to them, as we do not interfere with the running of individual games.

On a similar note, we will not moderate one way or the other on issues with posting speed - this is entirely a personal thing that needs to be handled between the writers involved. With that said, harassment and bullying are not tolerated - if you feel that you are being subjected to this, please do reach out to us.

Faceclaims & Graphics

We don't require any graphics onsite, though you are welcome to use 250x400 avatars for your mini-profiles. Signatures should be no larger than 500x300. Where faceclaims are concerned - we don't require them. If you want them for your characters, go right ahead! If you use art, please credit the artist and please make sure you have permission to use it first.

Member Intro
This is probably the most important ooc bit.

This bit is necessary!

As this is the form that you'll use to indicate what fandoms, genres, and plots you like and are interested in writing, it is necessary! This is also where you'll list things you're not opposed to but also not searching for, as well as things that you have absolutely no interest in. This is meant to give you a place to introduce yourself as a writer, including hobbies and schedule due to your online and offline life, as well as to let people know what sort of writing partners and plots you're really looking for, and whether the mini-games are of any interest to you. This is also where you'll list your preferred contact methods as well as detailed writing preferences (length, experience, etc.).

The form is required.

While you are welcome to put as much or little as you like in the form, we do require that you use either the BBCode or the html version of it. The form itself will indicate what each section needs at minimum and which parts can be entirely skipped. If you're unsure of anything, take a look at other intros to use them as a guide or reach out to one of the staff members.
