As a witcher, Geralt has enhanced senses. He is much stronger, faster, and sharper than a normal human. In his own world he's considered a mutant. This has physical and emotional effects - the physical ones are the enhanced things, but also his stark white hair and golden cat-slit eyes. He heals far more quickly than a human would, and he can mentally handle a lot more as well. All that said, he struggles a lot with loneliness and not feeling like he belongs. He hides this well, but has suffered several breakdowns over the years. At his current point, all of his personality is intact and he's regained all of his memories. All his Witcher training, beginning through expert, has been remastered and honed beyond what it was before his history and training was lost due to what happened prior to the events of the first game. While he can be manipulated by endangering those he cares about or by getting involved in things he believes in, beware manipulating him too much - he's smart and if he catches on he may not react nicely. While his objective is to kill monsters and to remain neutral and out of politics, Geralt has a different approach to many other witchers. Not all monsters are evil and need to be killed in his opinion - he even had friends who others would consider monstrous, and has spared creatures who aren't harming anyone. He has also drawn his sword on humans who are more monstrous than the creatures he normally hunts. He does not consider himself human and insists he likes to work alone, but given a chance he surrounds himself with friends - human and otherwise - and will defend people's right to live as they want to, so long as it doesn't harm others. He is a walking contradiction sometimes. His personality is gruff, but he's very friendly when he's relaxed and he has a big heart. He cares too deeply, and will go to much further lengths than many others to help. Money does still speak, but often he'll help those who can't pay even without any pay. He asks them to keep it quiet though, or he'd be out of a paying job. He's sarcastic and snarky and he loves a good drinking game, sparring match, boxing, or lay. He has a thing for redheads especially and he's not known for being loyal - in fact his finicky nature is almost legendary. He's broken many hearts by not settling down. Even the woman who he cared about before he lost his memory didn't have him solely to herself. ---- Geralt was left with the witchers as a young child and raised as one of their own. He underwent the trials and the end result was his white hair and nickname. He was an extremely successful witcher, and had many 'adventures'. He was killed during an uprising where he was protecting his friends, stabbed by a pitchfork. A sorceress who loved him deeply died trying to revive him. At some point someone found a way to bring both of them back, though the cost to Geralt was the loss of his identity for a time. He found himself stumbling through the woods with no memories of how he got there or where he was, or even much of who he was. Some of the other witchers found him and took him back to Kaer Morhen, where he was nursed back to health. He was reunited with Triss there, but not long after their home was attacked and the Witchers' secrets stolen. One of their own was killed, and Triss was injured. After healing her [and sleeping with her] they all set out to different parts of the world, trying to find the ones who'd stolen their secrets. Geralt found more trouble on his way, and became wrapped up in events in a small town outside of Vizima - his destination. Though he tried to stay neutral, there were things he could not overlook and he was forced to kill several of the townsfolk to protect the witch in town, though he did not condone her actions either. During these events he met Alvin, though the boy was sent to live elsewhere after things turned sour. Betrayed and arrested, he found himself stuck in the dungeons of Vizima. Offered the chance to hunt a cockatrice in exchange for his freedom, he agreed. Teaming up with a knight named Siegfried, who he met in the sewers while hunting, the two took the beast down and Geralt found himself with a new ally. He began his hunt for the Salamandra - those behind the theft of their secrets - in the Temple Quarter, which was under quarantine due to a plague outbreak. While here he made many allies and began to learn some of the secrets of those around town. He also reunited with Shani, who he'd found in the outskirts before being arrested. Taking care of the monsters and venturing to the swamps beyond to help out further, he learned even more secrets and made further allies and enemies. He was forced to choose between the non-human rebels and the Order members, which included Siegfried. Though he understood the plight of the non-humans and even related more to many of them, he allied himself with the Order, unable to support what he viewed as terrorism. This conflict was secondary though, as he was focused on the one behind the thefts - the Professor and the mage who'd helped. Though he was able to injure them both after laying a trap for the latter, he was knocked unconscious and nursed back to health by Triss. Given quarters in her home in the Trade Quarter, he began to help out there and learn of the political struggles going on. Though he did not want to become involved, he was dragged right into the middle and had to pick sides. While there, the Salamandra were after Alvin, who was in the hospital there, and Geralt was forced to pick between two women competing for his affections - with the poor boy as his token of affection. He chose to return to Triss with the boy, as he felt the Source powers were better protected with a sorceress than anywhere else. This all but destroyed his friendship with Shani, who stated she never wanted to see him again. During this, he dis covered who in the higher ranks was funding and allied with the Salamandra, and this ended up with him sentenced to death by Adda herself. The princess was the one behind the attempted coup, with support from several insiders. Triss whisked him away just in time, and he found himself in Murky Waters, a quiet little town. He met the Lady of the Lake there, and also Dandelion and Alvin. The non-human faction was quite active and eventually took hostages, which Geralt was forced to deal with. Though he didn't want to, he had to kill many elves and dwarves. During the conflict, Alvin was frightened and his powers unleashed, transporting him elsewhere. After everything there was seen to, Geralt decided it was time to go back to Vizima and deal with the princess. Upon arrival he was informed that things had gone to hell. Not only had the non-humans started a full scale revolution in the city, the princess had once again become a striga. He met the head of the Order, and was alarmed to see the racism pushing the group to strike out in ways he did not agree with. Trying to stop the non-human revolt, keep his allies alive, and stay neutral was impossible and he, with many misgivings, continued to support the Order. After the rebellion was stopped, he resolved to deal with the princess by curing her again, and then finishing his business with those who'd stolen the Witcher secrets. While he was able to save Adda again and restore her humanity, he'd grown weary of the politics and struggles between factions. Finally able to confront the Professor, his kill was stolen by a large monster, who he then had to kill to escape a similar fate. Heading on to confront the mage, he fought on far more equal footing than before, and the mastermind behind everything was revealed after he killed the mage. The Grand-Master of the Order himself - Geralt had been right to feel uneasy around him. Going back, Siegfried helped Geralt fight through transformed knights [now mutants using the witcher secrets] though he was wounded at the last and unable to help fight the Grand-Master. Geralt found himself transported to what seemed to be an icy wasteland in the future, but was [according to a projection of Triss] actually the Grand-Master's projection of what was coming. Fighting through it all, he faced and killed the man, defied the King of the Wild Hunt by refusing to give the man's soul to him, and then woke back in the regular world some time later. The Grand-Master had something in his possession and knew of private conversations that only Alvin had been around for, which led Geralt to conclude that the man was Alvin, who's powers had transported him into the past. Without someone to help and guide him, Geralt's words were warped by his fears, leading to the prejudiced man in present times. After collecting his payment from the King for saving Adda again, Geralt was about to leave when he detected an assassin. Intervening, he managed to kill the man, though he was hard pressed to do so. What startled him most was the revelation that the man had Witcher's eyes. He stayed on to advise and help the king after this, though he intended to leave soon. Unfortunately, he found himself drawn yet again into political conflicts. Forced to support the king as he waged a war against former allies who took some of his bastard children from him, Geralt found himself tiring of it all. As soon as they'd won the day he was resolved to go. He accompanied the king to the top of a massive assault tower and helped lead the way into the castle and town. Once they'd emerged victorious and found where the children were being hidden, he went with the king to retrieve them. Though they found them, the monk with them turned out to be another assassin in disguise and as soon as the children were out of the way he struck, killing the King. He then leapt from the tower, disappearing from the area and leaving Geralt alone with the dead king. Found crouched over the man with his weapon drawn, they concluded that he had killed the man. Arrested and held in prison, he was badly beaten and starved until the special forces group leader was ready to interrogate him. The interrogation didn't go too well, though he was uncuffed and given food and drink, which relieved him. He told his story, the man agreed to let him escape so he could hunt the real assassin. During their conversation a flash of memory from his past, specifically a name and face - a raven haired woman - came to him, but no more. His cuffs were replaced, the key left on the table, and he was left alone for a few moments so he could hide it. It didn't take him long to get free and get out of the place so he could meet up with Roche and Triss. Hunting the witcher who was responsible for the assassinations was his primary focus, to clear his name and stop the man's actions from further damaging the relationship between Witchers and those who hired them. On the way to their first destination they ran into Iorvith and his men, exchanging heated words. Once in town, they found two of Geralt and Triss's friends - Jaskier and Zoltan - about to be hanged. Sidetracked some by this, they were forced to negotiate the release of the two men. It was a tough sell, but he managed, though not without a few bumps along the way. Geralt also learned about the Kayran, a giant squid like creature that's blocking all routes out of the port city. He met a sorceress who was also there to deal with the creature. Once the creature was dealt with, Letho (the actual kingslayer) kidnapped Triss and left Geralt with a hard choice - leave immediately with Roche or stay and save the 'traitorous' elves trapped in a burning makeshift jail. Geralt chose the latter, thus allying himself with Iorveth and his ilk. Geralt arrived in Aedirn just to be immediately dragged into a battle between King Henselt's troops and the dwarven city Vergan. Once the skirmish was over, he was able to set up in the city itself due to allying with Iorveth. While trying to help the locals how he can as he seeks news of where Triss is, and is drawn into trying to lift a curse over the battlegrounds that blocked him from going further. Geralt was also forced to deviate by helping cure one of the leaders of the dwarven city, an elven woman known as Saskia as she was poisoned. He worked with the same sorceress he met earlier in his travels to make an antidote, though he would regret this later, as it would have dire consequences. While dealing with all of that, he found news of Triss, but by the time he was able to get to where she was held, she was gone. With little to do in the dwarven city and with the curse lifted, he proceeded to follow the Nilfgaardians to Loc Muinne. Upon reaching the location, lagging behind his quarry he was forced to sneak to save only one of the two sorceresses captured - Triss or Phillipa (the sorceress he'd been working with at the dwarven city). The one he did not choose risked death. He chose Triss. After attempting to rescue her and dealing with several events surrounding the plots of Nilfgaard in the north, he and the others realized they'd been fooled by Philippa, who was very much still alive. She'd used the 'antidote' Geralt helped gather ingredients for to trap and charm Saskia, who was actually a dragon in disguise. She planned on using the dragon to further her own causes, caring little for the suffering it would bring to the world. Geralt had to make a hard choice - whether to kill or try to save a dragon. Having grown close with Iorveth and the others, he chose to try to save her. After all Saskia was the brilliant light that the nation needed. Finally, after continuing to track Letho to rescue Triss, Geralt was able to confront and talk with him. Choosing not to fight, Geralt let him leave, and departed another way with Triss and Iorveth. Some time later, he returned to his home of Kaer Morhen to meet with his mentor to request help tracking Yennefer, who he finally remembered fully. At last, his memories were returned to him, making him whole and a better witcher than he'd started as. During a dream, he recalled Ciri's early days of training there though it was interrupted by the arrival of the Wild Hunt, turning the dream into a nightmare. Once he awoke he spoke with Vesemir, and the two resumed the hunt for her. While riding to their first promising lead in days, a portal opened under Geralt and he found himself and Roach surrounded by people, causing great confusion. His frustration at learning the portal was not one from a sorceress ally back home caused a lot of curt answers and behaviors. He is not happy. . Gunned down in front of his young son, Nate could only watch in horror and hold his dad in his lat moments. He was 10. This shaped his entire teenage life and while most of the kids in his area were sluffing school, drinking during class, or smoking in the bathrooms, he was working hard to study and get the grades he wanted. Right after graduation he enrolled in the local community college and was able to get scholarships and grants to help pay his way. His major was criminal justice, specifically criminology. He worked hard and didn't take much time to play, and nearly burned out but completed his BS early. He interviewed with the local force and was hired, going through the police academy with little trouble - his family was well known and he was a damn hard worker. It didn't take him long to advance from beat cop to detective, though his initial assignment was blue collar crime, then gangs, and finally after a good few years of dedication and hard work, homicide. He's been there since. The portal that yanked him to Brookhaven has him extremely unhappy as he's now having to start completely over and work his way back up, plus he's all alone. He's been around roughly a week. Personality wise, Nathan's a dedicated worker who always tries to do what's right. That doesn't stop him from being a cocky ass who's sarcastic as they come. This left her in the jail for a night, leaving her with a warm meal at least and a roof over her head. But it wasn't providing for her family. Every night in jail was another lesson learned, and she was captured less and less. Eventually, Chief Nichol Strongsteel extended her an offer to go undercover for them. She would be paid and protected, and she said she would think about it. The first war came, leaving the city in disarray and a prime target for many criminals. It definitely left many shops closed, and Amelya found food to be a good material to fence, slowly getting better at hawking what she stole to pawnshops and to other interested parties. That is, until one night, when someone she didn't recognise cornered her in an alley and beat and sexually assaulted her. It was a message. A message to her father and sister to pay their dues for the drugs they'd been addicted to. Amelya took Chief Strongsteel's offer, and began working to gain the attention of the Rogue's Guild. It worked, and she was able to keep an eye on what came and went through the Guild. She became known as Amy Ross there, and she fit in well. In fact, members helped teach her how to read and write, as well as how to properly do numbers on paper. As she became more proficient and trusted in the guild, she learned more and more of the drug trade through her contacts, and bit by bit chipped away at some in the city, handing over the evidence she'd gathered to the constables and investigators. When the Civil War came, Amelya kept her head down, doing her job even as her main protector, Nichol, left to fight. Nightmares plagued her from her attack, and she just wished he'd return. They'd grown close, but he didn't return her feelings, and she didn't blame him. She was tainted. Finally, the man returned, and she was able to continue her work, knowing the man had her back. And that is what she's been doing to this day. . The Write One AGE - 33 TIMEZONE - EST FACE CLAIM: Art THEONS @ SHINE

About John's talented at a lot of things, but he's best at being an exorcist and a conman. He's extremely good at manipulating those around him to get what he wants, particularly if it's money, cars, homes, and even friends. He's good at talking himself into and out of most situations. He's smart, though it doesn't always show when he runs his mouth. He's got a lot of knowledge from reading and hands on experience - mostly of various religions and occult things and he's got no qualms whatsoever about using it when necessary. His knowledge of magic and occult things has served him well in Brookhaven and it took him no time at all to adapt to it. He's mastered both Arcane and Shadow magick, and has began to study the other schools as well - his focus right now is Light. Most of his knowledge lies in the occult and magical practices [even ones that don't exist in his home realm]. He has an almost inhuman ability to pick up on supernatural things after seeing them only once or twice, but he has been known to screw up - when he does, it's a spectacular misstep that often costs lives. He's got some lasting influences from the demonic blood he possesses + the many spells he's cast that give him a bit of an extended life and slower aging [though this is also due in part to the demons keeping him young-ish and alive so as to avoid a war in Hell]. John's seemingly confident and sure of himself, but it's actually a mask he keeps up. He's very insecure and unsure of his abilities and skills. Someone who spots this could whittle away at his confidence until he's entirely unbalanced and take advantage of that weakness. He has more than a standard appetite for sex and an outright addiction to alcohol and cigarettes. He acts tough, like he doesn't care - but he can't stand to see those few he considers important to him hurt or threatened, particularly if it happens because of him. He does tend to lose sight of his own goals tearing himself up with worry for those he wants to keep safe, and a lot of his manipulation and bad habits are acted upon to protect them, though he never shows any of this torment outwardly. He's got a healthy fear of demons, devils, and those higher up in hell especially, but he often tries to con them anyway and does all that he can to mess their plans up. Currently, if he dies all of hell will go to war over his soul - he has sold it to three separate demons [the first of the fallen and his two brothers] and as such most demons go out of their way to keep him alive. This is a blessing and a curse since he's suffered through quite a few ordeals that would kill ordinary men. John does not have a personality that endears him to anyone really. He's crass and crude and extremely arrogant. He tends to think of himself and no one else - usually. There's a select few who get put before himself, and while he does tend to look down on humanity as a whole, he has done things to save them in the past. He's got no qualms about using people, even his friends, if it means getting the end result he wants. He doesn't like putting them in harm's way, but has learned that often it's the only way to succeed. As such, he rarely gets close to others - it's easier to use them if he's not emotionally attached. He's very rarely remorseful unless something horrible happens to those he's using. All that said, he does hold on to a great deal of remorse and even guilt [survivor's guilt, some say] at the first attempt at a demon summoning/exorcism because it damned a little girl's soul to hell with the very demon he was trying to rid her of. This softness and guilt is rarely seen, though he does take it hard when a friend or ally is lost. He's got snarky comebacks as a defense mechanism when people bring up that everyone dies around him, and often distances himself from anyone close after an incident. He also always seems to be looking for a fight to cope/forget and failing that a good smoke and beer. His darker side rarely shows, because he's actually afraid of it and keeps it under close guard. It's far more vicious than it once was [due to experiences + demonic blood] and those who manage to rouse it should be prepared to pay dearly. His temper has led him to cursing people, not something anyone should take lightly - especially at the hands of a skilled sorcerer. He often regrets his actions afterward, but in the heat of the moment he doesn't give a damn about the consequences of what he does. This, combined with his bad habit of conning people has earned him more enemies than friends and often even those he counts as friends will turn on him if pushed too far or used one too many times. History John was born to Thomas and Mary Constantine. His mother died in childbirth and his father never forgave him. His sister seemed to hate him as well. He grew up alone and different, and developed a fascination for the occult at a young age. This often got him in trouble with his father, and at one point all his books were burned by the man in their back yard. This pushed John to curse the man with a scrap of one of his books. That also backfired when it actually worked and John was forced to find a way to stop [but not cure] the issue. He ran away to London not long after, and encountered a creature of the Dreaming. He wasn't there for long, the police depositing him back in Liverpool with his father quickly. He returned to London again within a year, as he considered it far more a home than Liverpool ever had been. He lived with his best friend Chas and devoted much of his time to studying magic and playing music. He formed a band, though it was short lived due to being shit and he moved on to focusing on the occult full time. His first attempt at an exorcism ended in disaster due to his being overconfident and cocky and it resulted in a little girl being dragged to hell. This scarred him and he ended up in a mental institution for a time. While there he was treated horribly, due to the staff thinking he was a child murderer. He was eventually set free when a gangster wanted help bringing his dead son back. John experienced many 'adventures' and issues over the next thirty five or so years, the loss of many of his family, friends, and self respect, but even with all that little changed about him. He was still an arrogant asshole who often got into trouble and alienated all but the most devoted of friends. His habit of cutting remarks at the most inappropriate times and savage retaliation for anyone who crossed him or injured those he cares about has not changed, only gotten worse. Finding himself stranded in Brookhaven after taking a smoke break to clear his head during a nasty argument with Chas about the handling of a case, he wasn't exactly thrilled. Were it not for the convincing explanation and the fact that his demon-tainted blood revealed it was the truth he'd have thought a demon was taking a nasty bit of revenge on him. He set off to explore as soon as they'd finished their explanation and took an instant dislike to those in in the ruling class. With his sharp mind and wit, he soon found himself in the middle of a war, forced to fight for a cause not his own. When the civil war started, he threw in his lot with the rebels, as he figured it was better than what they were dealing with from the current king. Once that was over and done with he decided that a magick shop that offered a wide range of things, including exorcisms and cleansings, was the way to go. Plus, if he had everything set up when Chas got through the portals himself hey'd be able to settle right in. He was content to stay in the city, as all the deals he'd made back home couldn't be upheld here, so it was a fresh start. The shop was instantly popular as much of the city, regardless of social rank, is highly superstitious. . TIREDOLDSOLDIERS AGE - THIRTY-NINE TIMEZONE - EASTERN FACE CLAIM: MATT RYAN THEONS @ SHINE

Trevor Belmont AGE MID-THIRTIES ALIGNMENT CHAOTIC GOOD OCCUPATION MONSTER HUNTER SOCIAL STATUS WORKERS RACE HUMAN CANON POINT END OF SEASON 2 TIME HERE FOUR MONTHS CANON/OC CANON FANDOM NETFLIX'S CASTLEVANIA MEMBER GROUP - STOLEN . Trevor Belmont was born into the noble Belmont clan - a renowned family of monster and vampire hunters. While they were well looked on for a time, eventually the closed minded church turned on them, excommunicated them all, and slaughtered as many of them as they could find. Only Trevor survived, and it was a hard life, being that he was a young teenager when he suddenly found himself entirely on his own. Drifting from place to place, making coin however he could, he grew up into a standoffish and grumpy man, who had a chip on his shoulder toward God, humanity, monsters... pretty much anything and everything. Though he loved a good bit of alcohol and never said no to a bit of a romp between the sheets, being who he was was dangerous and staying on the move was the only way he stayed alive. While traveling he came upon a group of Speakers, who implored him to find their missing member. He grudgingly agreed, and found himself facing down a cyclops and rescuing a Speaker who'd been frozen into living stone by meeting its gaze. Returning her to her people, he intended to leave before Dracula's horde could reach them, but was eventually convinced to stay and help fight. The fight was a harsh one, though they were successful in the end. Afterward, he and the rescued Speaker, Sypha - a powerful magic user in her own right, ventured back down into the vault that seemed a part of Dracula's castle, and faced down a blond vampire, who turned out to be Alucard - Dracula's dhampir son. They agreed to work together to hunt down Dracula and end his reign of terror over the region, and stopped to deal with wandering hordes of demons and lesser undead on their way. Several times they fought off small scout groups or all out assassins sent their way, the final group finding them in the massive library of knowledge the Belmonts had amassed over many, many years. After dealing with them, Trevor noted that Sypha had managed to use one of the items his family had taken and pulled the castle directly to them. With no time to lose, the trio left the Library and raced to the steps of the castle, heading inside to deal with the lesser vampires waiting for them there. Those were easier dealt with than Dracula himself. The battle started with all three going after him, but soon ended in a duel between father and son, with Sypha and Trevor racing to catch up. They reached the duo in Alucard's childhood room, stopping the remnants of Dracula - all instinct at this point - from killing his son to survive. Though it was necessary, Trevor understood the grief and pain, once Sypha smacked him upside the head and got him to look past his 'Dracula was a monster' viewpoint. Once they'd made sure Alucard was set, and wouldn't do anything rash while they were gone, they set out travelling to help clean up the remains of the demon army now running across the countryside. Their first night away from Alucard, Trevor spotted a strange glow a short distance from their camp and went to investigate, weapon drawn. He found himself sucked through a portal and dumped into Brookhaven, much to his displeasure. Everything reminds him of Dracula's castle, technology wise and it's been a bit of an adjustment. He has, happily, found plenty of work for a monster hunter like himself, and has set up a permanent residence in the slums of the city, where he can easily come and go as needed. . Personality Jack was once a friendly and outgoing man, and while there may still be a bit of it in him buried deep somewhere, it's hidden quite well and protected by steel walls. He does not trust, and he hates most everything and everyone around him. The constant pain he's in causes him to be short and temperamental with everyone, and he has very little patience for anyone or anything. He is brutal in his methods, and does not hesitate to kill if people are in his way. He has one soft spot and that's Gabriel Reyes - the strike commander and his former lover. Though he insists he hates the man, he's spared him repeatedly and will likely do so again. He's rough around the edges and harsh at best, but he does have his own moral code, even if it is slightly skewed from years of being the head of Blackwatch. There are some things he won't do, and harming innocents is top among those. Skills and Abilities Jack is trained in a variety of combat methods, from hand to hand, daggers, knives, and many firearms. He is also a tactician and leader. His skills also include a variety of wetworks methods, and torture/interrogation methods to get people to sing. He is shrewd and sharp, and cunning, and knows how to work out the weaknesses in everyone and how to weaponize them. Weaknesses Jack suffers from intense, ongoing pain as a result of the experiments done on him back home, as well as his 'death' and rebirth after the explosion. He also has extreme PTSD from both the many battles and conflicts he's been in and the incident that destroyed Overwatch. Knowing what he's done, and all the blood he has on his hands, some of it innocent haunts him. Having his memories tampered and being essentially brainwashed has left him questioning all his memories and recollection of things, as he has a hard time telling what is real and what might be remnants of tampering. He has a temper, a black one. Finally, though he originally had a moral compass that guided him true, it has become warped somewhat and he can't always make the best decisions that others will agree with, even if they do get results. About Jack was born to parents who owned a farm in a rural area in Indiana. He grew up expecting to take over running it when he was old enough and his parents wanted to retire. His teen years were spent working on the farm after school, but the rising conflict with the Omnics inspired him to enlist, despite his parents' protest. He promised them it would be for the initial term only; that he simply wanted to see the world and help out before he settled down. And that's what he thought, up until he saw his first battle and helped those in the middle of a battleground. Not long after, his performance in the field earned him the attention of a special project, along with his commander - Gabriel Reyes. The two enlisted with SEP, a program the various military factions of the USA were working on to help resist the advance of the omnics around the world. This wasn't handled well, and a lot of corners were cut, leading to dangerous injections and experiments done to those in the program. Many didn't survive the 'enhancement' process itself, and those who did were sent into the most dangerous of situations, expected to clean up messes no one else could manage. Through this, the UN became aware of them and when talks of a new group of the best from all over the world started, Jack and Gabriel were right at the top of the list. Throughout their time in SEP and in the field, they'd become close, best friends. Gabriel was the obvious choice for heading everything, as he'd been the one calling the shots up til then, and everyone liked his more aggressive style when it came to the Omnics. Through the war, he and Jack worked together, though Jack's bright nature and friendly nature made him the obvious choice for dealing with the press. When the war was over, he expected to be Gabriel's second in command, with their good friend Ana as head of the Blackwatch unit being officially formed. When they met with the UN officials though, everyone was surprised when Jack was shunted to Blackwatch and Ana was put in his position as second in command under Gabriel. He'd looked to Gabe, expecting the man to have his back, to protest and right things. It didn't happen, and Jack was thrust into a role that he was not suited for. It seemed the public wanted Gabriel's rougher brand of handling things and Jack was no longer needed as the golden boy for the cameras. Jack tried hard to do what his job required, while still maintaining the inner light so many people had commented on helping them, but as his missions got darker and less black and white he had to start crossing lines and doing things that he hated. Eventually, he was forced to utilize torture techniques that went against everything he stood for, and as the darkness took hold of him, he became bitter and angry. He and Gabriel had become a couple, though they held off marrying, due to pressures from UN officials who had sons and daughters they wanted to be seen on Gabriel's arm. But Gabriel didn't want to listen to Jack's stresses at work, wanting to just spend time together, and so Jack had no outlets. Left at home during functions, left to stew, and to continue to spiral into darkness as his hands grew bloodier by the day. Eventually this led to a breakdown where he snapped and killed one of his prisoners during an interrogation. Only Gabriel was able to overpower him enough to pull him off. He was restrained until he came back to himself, and discovered that Ana had had words with Gabriel. They were supposed to go on several dates and get Jack some much needed R&R. It worked, at first, and Gabriel listened to him. But within a month, things were right back to where they'd been before, with Gabriel not checking on Jack or letting him talk about things stressing him out at work. This time Jack bottled it, and bottled it, and bottled it. Moira took advantage of his isolation and began to whisper in his ear, coercing him into experiments that took the 'accidents' that Gabriel's SEP reactions had caused (and Moira had stabilized) and turned them into abilities he could use. The experiments took some time, and there were several setbacks, but finally - finally - he had them under control and hidden. At first he'd developed claws like Gabriel had, before he'd been stabilized, but once Moira had addressed that, he could call on that form and also teleport - shadowstep - like Gabriel had been able to before Moira had fully stabilized his cells. As the years continued on, he discovered corruption inside Overwatch, and began to try to root it out. All the while, Gabriel continued on as Strike Commander. Their personal relationship suffered, despite efforts by both to make it work. Gabriel was expected to have dates with UN officials children, and this continued to erode their relationship until Ana stepped in and stopped Gabriel from doing something that would have ended things between them. Though Jack had wanted to ask Gabe to marry him that night, he was afraid to take that step, not knowing if the other man felt the same. After a night together, where they talked, he got caught staring at the rings and decided to spring the question. Seemed Gabe had the same idea, and despite their struggles, the two decided to tie the knot quickly, and Gabe put his foot down at functions, so only Jack (or Ana when he couldn't make it) were his dates for things. He continued the experiments and went undercover as a double agent in Talon, who he'd found infiltrating Overwatch, intending to unwind all the threads and follow them back to the source. Unfortunately, this led him to find that all levels in Overwatch and in the UN (and many of the world's governments) were compromised. He was confronted by a nameless, faceless individual, who basically held Gabe, and all those he cared about hostage. Should he make a move, they would destroy everything he cared for. For another year, things continued, until he and Gabe were at each other's throats all the time. Intel he'd had could have saved Ana, but he'd held back, unable to risk everyone else and had hoped she'd be able to save everyone and herself. When Gabriel had discovered that he'd had information and hadn't alerted them, the two came to blows. Jack didn't move out of their personal quarters, but threw himself into the research Moira was doing, and took many more cases to keep him out of their shared spaces aside from work meetings. In meetings, they shouted and fought, and things got nasty. Then the incident with Antonio happened, and Jack killed the man with his bare hands, not even bothering with a gun when he was mocked and pushed too far. The incident resulted in Blackwatch being suspended temporarily, though further actions that went beyond what they were charged with ended in a more permanent suspension while Gabriel figured out what to do with the various agents. Jack was in deep trouble already from the Venice incident, and when the uprising in London happened he 'conveniently' had an agent on the ground for 'vacation'. This let Gabe make the decision to move on the omnics and put the issue to rest. It ended well, but there were even more issues between Gabe and Jack due to Jack's attitude toward the strike commander. Someone let something slip in the weeks following, revealing his involvement with Talon, and he was hauled in front of Gabriel and grilled for hours. When he revealed what he'd been doing, Gabriel understood but was furious that he'd been kept in the dark. He also didn't fully believe Jack, and ordered him stripped of his access and confined to quarters until he could get to the bottom of things. This was too much for Jack, and he packed his belongings and moved out into his old quarters, which had stood dusty and unused for years. A beep on his datapad had him scrambling to see if it was Gabriel. What met his eyes instead caused a great deal of panic. We warned you what would happen if you told. Too late now. He raced back to where Gabe was, barging in on the man while he did paperwork, and dealt with the angry glare and shouts aimed his way by the man and those guarding the door. After explaining himself further, Gabriel lifted his blocked access and the two began to race around the compound, trying to find where the bomb the enemy had warned about might be. What most people saw and remembered later was the furious shouting and angry words between the two men, not the frantic search after the fact. Only the blare of the evacuation alarms - which came too late. Exhausting himself to the point he couldn't ghost anymore to search for it. He didn't realize it, but he'd come very close. When the main explosion rocked the base, he was very near it and found himself pinned under the rubble. That's where Gabriel found him, dying. He didn't have energy to say anything, or even to move, and barely registered the older man curling around his upper half, the only part that could be reached past the rubble. Everything went black shortly after that and when he woke some time later, he didn't remember those final moments, or the panicked search for the bomb. Only the argument and the feeling of being totally and completely alone remained. That was the state he was in, barely able to form into himself, pain and confusion making it hard for him to remain corporeal, when Moira and several of her Talon agents found him. She helped to put him back together, doing further experiments to get his form stable. She also worked in several things to help her control him, so she could plant suggestions or tweak memories as needed to keep him focused on what she and Talon wanted. It wasn't hard to start, as he felt betrayed and abandoned by Overwatch and his husband. Though it was tempered somewhat when he discovered that Gabriel had died. In fact, the grief of that loss, despite everything, caused him to shut down and compartmentalize. This was to their advantage though, as it made the programming with the nanites that much easier. For several years, he worked on rooting out those who'd caused Overwatch to fall, both in Talon and Overwatch, as well as in the various governments around the world. Each name he crossed off his list killed him a bit more, the deaths doing nothing to ease the fury and pain he felt at the fall of everything he'd helped to build. Talon didn't mind letting him go after most of those on his list, but Moira did alter his memories and perceptions on a few of those who were still valuable to Talon, so he wouldn't pursue them. During this time, rumors of a soldier reached his ears, and though he didn't pay much attention at first, what people began to call him and he adopted as his own name hit Jack hard. Soldier 24. That had been Gabe's number in SEP and also the early days of Overwatch, while his had been 76. The first time he got a look at the man, he was sure it was a ghost he was seeing, as all signs said Gabriel was dead. But after seeing him from a distance repeatedly, he became convinced that the man had somehow survived. Their first confrontation wasn't pleasant, with him encountering a second ghost in the form of Ana, who drove him off and rescued Gabriel. He pursued them angrily for a time, his tampered memories and the repeated 'treatments' from Moira (that were more akin to repeated torture and caused him more unending pain due to the nanites and his rapidly deteriorating cells being rebuilt by said nanites. Eventually, he and Gabriel clashed, with Angela and Ana nearby, and his nanites were overloaded, causing him to collapse into a whirling cloud of whirling smoky black nanites, leaving him in agony. The overload undid all the tampering of memories and attitudes toward people, giving him back his true memories and beliefs. It was at this point that he was pulled through the portals and found himself on the platform. He's only just arrived. . CANON/OC Canon FANDOM Batman Nolanverse MEMBER GROUP - STOLEN . Not much is known about Bane's early life, and what is known is a total fabrication that he and those he worked with allowed to spread. That false history actually belonged to the woman he worshipped and loved as a protector and father figure - Talia al Ghul. After saving her from a horrific fate, he was attacked by the prisoners he saved her from, and the doctor who 'saved' his life butchered his face, leaving him in constant, excruciating pain. This pain caused him to develop a temper far beyond what he'd originally possessed. In fact, he would go into full rages where his stremgth increased to almost inhuman amounts. Even before that, he was stronger than most men. He developed a reputation in the prison and most left him alone out of fear. Thus was he 're-educated' that fear was the way to control those around him. By the time Talia and her father came back for him, he was far from the quiet young man who'd been thrown down there for daring to help with humanatarian efforts in direct opposition to those who ruled the area. Talia's father didn't believe he was anything other than an animal, and cast him out instead of fully inducting him into the man's ranks. The rejection hurt, as did the fact he could no longer serve Talia however he could. Abandoned by the man he'd hoped could be a leader to him, Bane turned to mercenary work - no longer feeling the world deserved the humanatarian efforts of his younger self. After the death of Ra's al Ghul, Talia sought him out and explained her plans for Gotham and Bruce Wayne. For the time being he would continue building his already terrifying reputation and expanding his mercenary operations, including gaining full control of The Pit, where they had both been imprisoned. Meanwhile, Talia would go deep undercover, gaining Bruce's trust and affections. When the day came, when he received her signal, he took all the steps needed and then arrived in Gotham to start his reign of terror. It didn't take long for him to gain full control of the city, using the threat of a bomb he and his men had to cut the city off from the rest of the country. He then faced off against Batman, broke his back, and sent him back to The Pit, expecting him to watch as his city burned - unable to do anything due to his broken back. The following months were spent keeping the city a complete chaotic nightmare, hunting down cops, and allowing the criminals to run rampant. It was a surprise when Bruce Wayne/Batman showed back up, in better shape than he'd left. Bane was waiting for him and all those who had sided with him from where he'd set up headquarters. During the fight, Talia ordered him to stay behind, ensuring that Bruce would die, and he followed through, though he was thwarted at the last moment by Catwoman. He blacked out. When he awoke he was in Brookhaven. He found himself quickly subdued and hauled off to the hospital to tend to his injuries. . Growing up, Korbin was a street smart, tough kid. He grew up in Chicago in one of the poorer areas until his parents were able to save up enough to get out of the city. They did their best to raise him, but he was good at finding trouble. After one run-in with the law too many, he was given a choice - enlist and shape up, or the next time he landed in jail his parents wouldn't bail him out. He wasn't happy, but he didn't have a choice - he didn't want to rot away in jail. So he enlisted. The military had a way of instilling discipline, order, and responsibility in many kids badly in need of it, and he was no different. It was tough, but before long his natural talent with sharpshooting caught the eye of the special forces and he was moved over to them. Not long after Overwatch was in need of new members, Blackwatch specifically and he fit the bill for what they were looking for. Though he was a bit of a smart-ass at first, he grew to have a great deal of respect for his teammates and for Jack and Gabe. He'd be lying if he said he didn't look up to them. Things were great for a time, and he went on many missions, though some of them made him start to question what the UN was up to. When tensions rose between Jack and Gabriel, he worried about what would happen to the two men he looked up to - that everyone looked up to - and could only watch as things fell apart. After that he kept his head down when on the job, and spent more time with other members of Overwatch when off the clock. Movies and games were his favorite past-time, but he also enjoyed going out drinking and having a good time. He was known to be a giant flirt. On his way to report for a mission, he encountered a portal and couldn't stop from stumbling through it. He's been around long enough to get to know his way around and make a ton of contacts on both sides of the law. He does prefer to work with the Guard and the crown in general as their code of conduct and the jobs they have for him are more in line with his own moral beliefs. That doesn't stop him from taking the occasional mercenary job for the other side though, if he's low on funds. He's extremely picky and refuses anything that would violate his personal honor code. He's been working on improving the gun tech, though he's not had a ton of advances yet, much to his annoyance. . Even with the harshness of their life, her parents made time for her every night to read to their daughter and Kitty discovered a love for words that went with her throughout her life. It was also while she was a child that her family discovered she had a knack for magic - particularly air magic - and they grew worried. 'A proper lady doesn't use magic' was something Kitty heard a lot while growing up, and she took to suppressing the natural inclinations that came with having magic. As she grew up, it became a distant call, and she was married to a man to ensure her future was taken care of. Unfortunately, the war came and her husband went to fight, and Catherine found she was pregnant. To help support herself while her husband was gone, she got a job at the local newspaper, and her love of words proved beneficial. Sadly, the baby was born prematurely and didn't survive and guilt ate at her. Her husband's tour ended, and the man that returned to her wasn't the man she had married. He was... different. Cold and distant, and the loss of the baby changed something. He began to hit her and abuse her, and Kitty took it. She'd screwed up after all. She lost the baby. Make up became her friend and she took to working long hours at the office to avoid him. Still, the exhaustion caught up to her, and she was forced to tell her best friend about what had happened. The woman told her that she needed to go to the guards about this, and Kitty shook her head. She couldn't. Her husband took care of her, save the slaps she often got. She still loved him... The more her emotions struggled, the more the air magic tried to come to the forefront, which made it even worse. And then to find out she was pregnant again? It was a rough time for Catherine to say the least. Again, something went wrong with the pregnancy, and Kitty miscarried. This sent her into a deep depression and her best friend had her move in with her to keep an eye on Kitty's mental state. Life slowly got better, and Kitty started to realize how bad her marriage actually was. There wasn't a way out though, was there? A way out of the marriage? She continued working for the paper, and the constant schedule gave her a routine to follow. It helped pull her out of the darkness. Unfortunately, her independent streak was cut short when her husband returned from the civil war. The abuse started again. Everything was fine though. Her husband was back, even if he was short a leg. And still, the seed was planted. She needed out. . The Write One AGE - 33 TIMEZONE - EST FACE CLAIM: Mystery~ THEONS @ SHINE

TIME HERE Only Recently arrived CANON/OC Canon FANDOM Star Wars MEMBER GROUP - Stolen . Hera was born into conflict. When she was little, the Clone Wars came to Ryloth, occupying her world, and her father fought back. She grew inspired by him as she grew up, and also by the Clone Army's ships. It was also during the fighting she gained a lifelong friend in the form of a less-than-sane astromech named Chopper, whom she'd rescued from a crash. When the war ended, the Empire continued occupying Ryloth, and another struggle began, resulting in her mother's death and her father putting the struggle before his family. This put a lot of strain on their relationship, and Hera left the planet to join the overall resistance that was forming against the Empire. The Twi'lek became a very skilled pilot and eventually met Kanan Jarrus, coaxing him and others to join the cause. They ended up on Lothal, where they met Ezra Bridger, an orphan. The war had taken his parents, leaving him an orphan, and Hera took him in, though it took some convincing of the others to let him stay. At some point, she gained a romantic interest in Kanan, but the bigger picture took priority over that. Over time, they caused quite a hassle for the Empire and made plenty of new allies along the way, and Chopper Base was eventually established with help from some retired clones. Tragedy struck, though, as a visit to Malachor to learn about the Sith rendered them without one of their leaders and Kanan without his vision. He became emotionally distant from everyone, which troubled Hera, but she had her own work she had to do. With maneuvering interpersonal relationships, 'raising' two kids, helping run a rebellion, and rekindling a relationship with Kanan and another, things finally came to a head. Kanan was lost to them, but Hera didn't have time to grieve. Not when her other partner emotionally shattered like glass right before her eyes before disappearing during the night. It took everything she had to keep it together herself, especially when she discovered she hadn't lost Kanan entirely. The war continued on, and one day, she woke up on a strange platform, surrounded by people and architecture she didn't know, and precious cargo to protect. . Her family had plans for her to be an ambassador, but she found her skills more in wielding a sword then in diplomacy. Her family finally yielded, allowing her to train with her brother in preparation for the war that was creeping towards the city. Though her brother was deployed to fight in the field, the young woman was stationed at home to keep the city safe from the opposing side. The war came to an end, and Hayleigh was among the people who happily greeted their soldiers back. Unfortunately, as they had supported the king, many were not thrilled with the Strongsteel family. Soon after though, came the Civil War, and once again, the family supported the kingdom, though Hayleigh had her doubts and more supported the resistance. This time she could not escape the ravages of war, but she fought valiantly nonetheless. Even on the verge of death, she fought, earning her the nickname of 'Phoenix' from her fellow guards. Scars healed, still occassionally giving her troubles even now. The woman was rewarded well for her service, but her opinion on who was right had since changed. She sided with the rebellion, but it was too late to change the public's opinion, really. She still works as a city guard, keeping the city safe to the best of her abilities, and has found a knack for talking to victims and interviewing people. When not on duty, she's found at the common stomping grounds for the guards of the city, drinking and flirting. Behind her gruff exterior is still an innocent dreamer who wants to leave the world a better place then she found it to be, but she can't seem to get out from under her brother's shadow to do so. . Gabriel Reyes was originally born and raised in Los Angeles, California to a mixed race household, which got him a lot of flak growing up. Add on his love of costuming and musicals, the bullying resulted in him becoming bristly and harsh towards others. It also instilled a strong drive for justice that was hard to quench. Once he graduated high school, he enrolled in the police force, where he fought hard to clean the criminal element off the street. Rising tensions between Omnics and humans had the man enlisting in the military, where he met a man who would later become his best friend: Jack Morrison. The ray of sunshine he affectionately referred to as 'Boy Scout' pulled Gabe out of his shell and gave him a reason to relax. However, he remained mission oriented, often scolding Jack for rushing in and having to rescue his friend when he got in trouble. As things heated up in the Omnic Crisis, both Jack and Gabe volunteered for an experimental process called SEP, which resulted in the two men gifted with enhanced healing, strength, and reflexes. Due to their excellent service with these ehancements, it was no wonder the pair were recruited for Overwatch as things continued to go badly in the war. Gabe worked hard, aiming for the Strike Commander position, though his need for justice often led to behavior that was not ideal for the position. During this time, he and Jack started dancing around each other and even started casually sleeping together. The Omnic Crisis was finally put to rest, and Jack was given the promotion that Gabe had been working hard towards. He was happy for his friend, though a seed of resentment had started to root, and to celebrate, he treated his best friend to a night out. There, they met a young woman left by her friends. Feeling bad for her, and both men wanting to protect her, he invited her to join them. She happily did, but after an awesome evening, she was gone when an explosion rocked the bathroom. Unsure what to make of the situation, he eventually put it behind him, though distance had started to form between him and Jack without him realizing. Two weeks after his sometimes lover's promotion, Gabe fell through a portal and landed on an unknown, strange platform, and he's none too pleased about being told there was no known way home. . Chibi's adventures began quite by accident one day. She'd picked up an unknown device her inventor roommate had left lying around, and with a thunderous noise that left her disoriented, she found herself in the middle of a battlefield. A battlefield for the control of the Temple of Anubis in the fictional world of Overwtach, and somehow, they knew her. She had no idea how, but they did. The device became known as the Temporal Device and over the next handful of years, she traveled from her own world to different ones with it. Depending on the world, time flowed either faster or slower then back home. She visited many places and made many friends, only ocassionally coming home to relax or to get her medications refilled via the subdermal patches on her upper left arm. Somewhere along the way, her roommate slipped medically repairing nanites into her system, helping her survive her sometimes rotten luck. Her confidence grew, as did a spark. It varied depending on the magic system in each world, but each world that she travelled to that she could tap into it from, the stronger it got. Magic, the Force, Chaos - it didn't matter. In the span of a year, she'd mentally aged a decade, but even her newfound powers couldn't protect her from everything. Sometimes, things didn't go according to plan. Really, really didn't go according to plan. Like the time she was in Feudal Japan, fighting alongside a companion she had made. The nanites couldn't keep up with the damage done and she faded to darkness, waking up again in a tube filled with strange fluid and an oxygen mask over her face, naked as the day she was born. Once out of the tube thanks to her mad scientist of a roommate, she caught sight of the sheer number of clones of her, her roommate, and her significant other, and her roommate explained they were back ups, and yes, she had indeed died. The trauma of her death led to fuzzy memories (and a new scar each time that drove her roommate up a wall because that wasn't supposed to happen), but that didn't stop her, even if each time was traumatic. Each scar was either a mortal wound, or a killing blow, and she kept them as hidden as possible - which wasn't hard given most were on her torso. Roughly 90% of those scars? They were her trying to protect someone she'd gotten close to in her travels, sacrificing herself for them. Having to explain how she survived whenever she came back, though, was difficult, usually resulting in a shrug or 'shenanigans?' as a response. The worst scar, to her, was from the Clone Wars. Order 66 had been both a surprise and yet not at the same time. Her second in command, a clone nicknamed Deadeye who specialized in sniperwork, fell back, and her connection to the Force screamed out at her as so many people she'd grown close to were killed... She knew the timeline and she braced. A familiar darkness, and she woke with a gasp in a healing tube. She never went back - her story there was done. Instead, she focused on the time of the Rebels show and other adventures rather then focus on her grief. All the while, a massive scar hid under her hair on both sides of her skull. More grief dogged her steps at the end of Rebels, and she actually didn't adventure for a long time afterwards, until she found herself back on the Continent and catching up with a certain Witcher. This wasn't a usual adventure, though, and after some time, she was able to get back home - where she then ended up in Harran. She lost her memories there and while struggling to regain them, she traveled with the main character through the story. Chibi eventually regained her memories, and as she is wont to do, she did all she could to help, but unfortunately fell to darkness. She then woke up on a strange platform, her nanites sluggishly working to heal the damage she'd incurred in Harran. Strange people rushed to her aid, and she just knew this was a new adventure to deal with. The woman found a place among the healers quickly enough, with her talents leaning that way anyways, and while she sometimes helped at the hospitals, she found it most rewarding to help the critically wounded that came through the portals after her. To explain what was going on, and to point them in the right direction. It's been a week since then, and she's working on saving up for a better apartment then the three bedroom place she found in the poorer part of town. Alone for the first time, she struggled with her memories and picking out what was actually from her adventures or just from a game, story, or anything else. . The basics, image (260x260), and the ooc info should be filled out completely. The bio section is freeform and all that's needed is a short blurb about your character, including what point in their life they were pulled through to Brookhaven and what they've done since if they've been here any length of time. If your character has powers, we would prefer that you outline those at least briefly so we understand them. If you want to do a full bio you are welcome to, but bullet point events are also fine - however much or little you want to include aside from how and when they got here is up to you. The first post here has the html form sample. Post two has the code for that. Post three has both the example and code for the simplified bio form for those who prefer it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of the game mods! ::-webkit-scrollbar { height: 12px; width: 10px; background-color: #fff;} ::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb { background: #090C13; } ::-webkit-scrollbar-corner { background: #090C13; } ::-webkit-scrollbar-track { background: #fff; } #thtabcontainer { width: 500px; padding: 20px; background: #FCFAFF; } .thtabname { width: 200px; height: 250px; background: #090C13; text-align: right; padding: 20px; font-family: playfair display; text-transform: uppercase; color: #FCFAFF; font-size: 28px; line-height: 30px; letter-spacing: 0px; font-style: italic; word-spacing: 3px; } .thtabimage img { width: 260px; height: 250px; } .thtabtopper { width: 450px; height: 21px; margin-top: 10px; font-family: lekton; font-size: 12px; opacity: 0.8; filter: alpha(opacity=80); text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing: 2px; word-spacing: 4px; color: #090C13; border-top: 3px double #090C13; border-bottom: 3px double #090C13; } .tabs { position: relative; height: 460px; width: 450px; clear: both; margin: 25px 0; } .tab { float: left; } .tab label { display: block; background: #090C13; color: #ccc; height: 12px; width: 12px; line-height: 2px; font: 8px/12px lekton; padding: 10px; -webkit-border-radius: 20px; margin: 10px; position: relative; left: 125px; } .tab [type=radio] { display: none; } [type=radio]:checked ~ label { background: #DDDDDD; color: #090C13; border-bottom: 0px; z-index: 2; } [type=radio]:checked ~ label ~ .thcontent { z-index: 1; } .thcontent { position: absolute; top: 60px; left: 0; background: #fff; right: 0; bottom: 0; padding: 0px; border: 0px; text-align: justify; } [type=radio]:checked ~ label { background: #DDDDDD; color: #090C13; border-bottom: 0px; z-index: 2; } [type=radio]:checked ~ label ~ .thcontent { z-index: 1; } .thfirsttab { text-align: center; width: 250px; margin-top: 100px; margin-left: 105px; margin-right: 105px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; font-style: italic; line-height: 16px; border-bottom: 1px solid #090C13; color: #090C13; padding-bottom: 20px; } .thfirsttabcredit { font-family: lekton; font-size: 8px; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; line-height: 9px; padding-top: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; word-spacing: 4px; color: #606060; } .thapptable { width: 350px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; margin-top: 25px; letter-spacing: 1px; word-spacing: 3px; line-height: 18px; } .thapprow { display: block; text-align: center; font-family: lekton; font-size: 10px; height: 16px; line-height: 16px; background: #090C13; color: #DDDDDD; text-transform: uppercase; } .thapprow:hover { color: #090C13; background: #DDDDDD; } .thappcol { display: block; text-align: justify; font-family: lekton; font-size: 10px; height: 16px; line-height: 16px; padding-left: 10px; color: #090C13; text-transform: uppercase; } .thappcontent { width: 410px; height: 360px; overflow: auto; font-family: times new roman; padding: 20px; font-size: 14px; line-height: 14px; color: #090C13; } .thoocabout { font-family: times new roman; font-size: 14px; color: #090C13; line-height: 14px; padding: 5px; } introducing the character //FIRST LAST . lyrics/poetry/quote goes here: 4-6 lines is optimal song name - band/poem, book - author/movie, show - character etc . SETTING INFO Location Most of the game will take place in the capital - Chiselwall City (at least to start). It's a pretty massive city, perched right on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea below. There are walls around the rest of the city not bordering the cliffs, helping to protect it from a variety of threats. The whole of the city is circular, with streets branching out from one point on each level, though it's not always the central-most point. It is divided into several districts as well as three tiers. The Heights, Midtown, and The Slums. The districts are as follows - Irongate is the crafting and trade district, Goldbarrow is the Business district and also contains several apartment complexes, Imperial Way is the government district which hosts the castle, and also contains the schools [k-12 & college]. Cliff's Edge and Blackwood Place are both residential districts - the former is lower income while Blackwood contains mid and high end homes and apartments. Stonegrip is the warehouse district. Stonegrip sits to the northmost part of The Slums, and is nestled against the cliff's edge. It also has a lift that can be raised and lowered down to the beach 100 feet below, where there is an entire storage area for shipped goods. To the south and east of Stonegrip sits Cliff's Edge, which extends down a good few miles. There are also many, many neighborhoods and abandoned areas in The Slums that are no more than ramshackle huts made of tin roofs and mud walls. Many of the lowest class have retreated here, scraping by as best they can. Moving on to Midtown, this district is built about 20 feet above the tallest of buildings in The Slums. The entire level is lifted with strong stone and wooden pillars and reinforced with magick. Irongate is just to the west of Goldbarrow and extends up to meet the cliff faces to the north. Goldbarrow itself takes up the North-East portion of Midtown. On the level's south lies Blackwood Place, the more expensive residential district. To the east sit great black trees, which earned the district its name. Imperial Way stretches across all of the north of the Heights, with the castle at the very northernmost point, jutting out over the cliffs and looking down onto the beach and water below. To the south-east sits the fine dining and entertainment districts for the entire city, named Silvermist Plaza. The airway sits to the southwest, tucked into a tiny corner, with ramps leading out to various docks for the aether-powered ships. Right between the airway and the Plaza sits the final housing district - Crown-Blessed. Only the most wealthy can afford to live there. The areas just outside the walls, where the forests don't touch the city are farmlands, and they are fairly well off. The whole area is relatively flat, with small rolling hills toward the eastern edge of the city where the trees meet it. The cliff face to the west is a sheer100+ foot drop, after which a beautiful white sandy beach stretches out. There is a large dock and warehouse near the lift to the main city. To the north of the city sit more cliffs, with roughly the same height. A bay separates rolling grasslands and plains from the city. Finally to the south are sparser forests and more grasslands. There are four distinct seasons, and they can be quite harsh. There is rain nearly all year round. Winters are cold and foggy, with a lot of snow and freezing rain. Blizzards are common. Temperatures range from low 10s to low 30s. Spring is rainy and cloudy almost all the time and rainstorms are common. Temperatures range between 50 to 64. Summer is full of thunderstorms that happen several times a week, with rain almost daily. Temperatures range between 65-80. Autumn is cool and damp, with fog and light rains and occasional sleet. Snow is rare, but can happen. Temperatures range between 30 and 45, though they tend to be on the higher end of that. Culture Due to the rebellion and complete restructure of society and the government itself a short time ago, there's quite a bit of upheaval as the locals and stolen try to sort themselves out and figure out how to mesh beliefs and traditions of many different cultures and ways of life. A love of dancing and the arts has remained strong and even flourished as people sought out things to enjoy or that reminded them of home. The rigid class rules and beliefs have been loosened some though some behaviors and treatments of others linger, as change can be slow. Perhaps the biggest conflict aside from that of ongoing class tension is that of the resentment the locals feel toward the 'outsiders' who have all but taken over their country. The biggest backlash is from the former Nobility, who resent the new King for doing away with the stricter class structures, despite the fact that they were the most vocal about putting him in the position after the civil war. The clothing of the realm has remained Victorian Steampunk despite the best effort of some of the more modern stolen. Not everyone wears this, but those who do not are often judged harshly - particularly women who wear pants often or who bare a great deal of skin. Magick While the most common form of magick in the realm used is elemental, most of the magitech is aether based. Magick from other realms is converted over to the elements, celestial, infernal, or into aether, without exception. Whatever is the closest is what it'll convert to. Anyone who's magic is considerably different back home may struggle for a time as they adjust to how different it is and how it responds. If you're unsure of the closest equivalent or can't decide you can have them start off as a beginner or ask a game mod for help deciding if you'd rather they not start over. The elements are Shadow, Light, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. There are also Aetheric, Celestial, and Infernal magic, which draws on the energy of everything around it - Aetheric is entirely neutral magic, while Celestial uses positive energy and Infernal uses negative & death energy and tends to be destructive to those who use it. None of the schools are inherently good or evil aside from Infernal [evil], even Shadow. How they are used determines whether a spell reads as good or evil. There are ranks for magick users - Novices, Apprentices, Adepts, and Masters. Masters can use every spell in their school of magick. A Grand Master is someone who can use all types of magick and they are extremely rare. In addition to these ranks, each user has power/ability levels noted with '+' marks, ranging from none to +++. One to two marks is most common. Three is almost unheard of. Technology Technology is steampunk magitech, and most things are turn of the century inventions. This, this, and this are good samples of what sort of inventions are currently available. Travel uses horse & carriage, horseless steam carriages [almost-cars], and airships.

GROUPS Governing Officials Highest ranking group- includes royalty. Those here are generally referred to as lords and ladies. Aside from the king, appointed officials. King chooses several successors, but does not name them publicly. Those who are in this group are given a salary. The amount depends on how high ranked they are in the government and what their duties are. Land & Business Owners Highest rank below governing officials. This includes anyone who originally inherited/owned land through family and those who've purchased it more recently. Also includes those who own businesses in the city itself, but not land. Highly desired positions of power, but difficult to come by still, as it requires money and business sense. Many of the nobility have found themselves here, if they were unable to obtain government positions. They are not pleased to be sharing with 'commoners'. Heads of Staff & Other Management These positions include those who run households for wealthy families, run businesses, or hold important management positions in households or businesses under those in charge. Pays fairly well. Those from the lower class and even some from the outcast groups before the reform may find themselves lucky enough to rise to this rank. It all depends on skills and abilities. Many start here, and try to save up enough to buy their own business and/or land, though not all have the dedication or skill to be successful in the attempt. There are quite a few people in these positions. Workers Some of those who are part of the working ranks live comfortably if they find good positions, but many struggle and find themselves living paycheck to paycheck even with the reform the country's undergone. Schooling is available to adults and teens who wish to improve their lot in life and move up in rank in their chosen profession, or even land management positions. Many workers are employed on the farms, in the factories, inns, restaurants, and shops, but some have taken up less savory work to get by. There are countless jobs, if one knows where to look and isn't too picky. Many workers rarely own anything beyond basic personal belongings. Outcasts Even with the reform, there are people society would rather forget/ignore. Criminals who've committed atrocities, former nobles and upper class who've fallen from grace, or those with diseases or afflictions society rejects make up the majority. Treated as invisible whenever possible. Some use it to their advantage, but for most it's living hell. The new king has resources, soup kitchens, and shelters for them, but many are wary of the motivations behind such things - the former government was cruel and that's still fresh in many outcasts' minds. RACES Humans Lifespan: 80-110 years. Adult at 18. Appearance: 4'5" - 6'6" height, standard skin tones, hair colors, & eye colors. Prejudices: Outcasts, some lingering class issues, most other races are distrusted. Gender: Binary view, male & female. Starting to accept other views. Professions: Jack of All Trades. Magick: Extremely proficient in elemental and aetheric magick. Somewhat proficient in celestial/infernal magick. Elves Lifespan: Immortal - can be killed. Adult at 150. Appearance: 5'1" - 7'8" height, skin tone, eye & hair color any color imaginable. Cat-slit or round pupils, solid colored eyes [no discernible pupil or sclera - extremely rare], long pointed, extremely expressive ears, wings [common] are feathered, bat-like, or insect-like. Sky elf sub race - always has wings, pale [nearly albino] skin and hair, bright blue, purple, or pale gold eyes. Almost always tall. Deep Elf sub-race - Dark skin tones, with red, purple, or orange eyes. Pale [usually white or silver] hair but rarely red or black hair is seen. Elongated limbs and larger almost batlike ears. Sharp teeth. Prejudices: Distrustful of humans and vampires. Standard and Sky elves dislike Deep elves, though it's not a deep hatred, just a mild dislike - they see them as inferior. Gender: No concept of gender - some can carry children, others can't, they don't differentiate. Gendered pronouns used for convenience only. Professions: Usually magick or nature based, also extremely talented rangers. Magick: Highly proficient in all magick, though the sub-races specialize in specific ones. Sky-elves are extremely talented with celestial magic, while deep-elves are specialists with infernal. Dwarves Lifespan: 500-800 years. Adult at 70. Appearance: 2'5" - 5'3" height, earthy skin tones both dark & light, eyes are green, blue, and rarely gold or purple, hair is usually black or brown, uncommonly red, and rarely blonde. All dwarves are bearded and stocky. Deep dwarves sub race - dark blue-grey or purple-grey skin, black or orange eyes, dark hair. Closely involved with the other dwarves, so no other differences. Prejudices: Extreme racial prejudice toward vampires. Strong dislike of humans. Mild dislike of elves. Gender: Male, female, spirit touched [gender-fluid or gender neutral]. Professions: From school age on they train - toymakers, carpenters, smiths, jewelcrafters, miners, etc.. Warriors are also common. Magick: Dwarves are extremely adept with elemental magick, though they struggle with celestial and infernal. They have a small bit of talent with aetheric, though it takes more time to master. Undead There are several types of Undead, each with their own unique appearance, strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. Vampires: These are ageless immortal undead who are restored to their prime. They can be killed with a stake through the heart and having their head cut off (it does require both). Their appearance varies depending on what race they were before death, though their skin has always faded to nearly grey. Their eyes are dull but glow red when feeling strong emotions, aroused, or are in a blood-lust. They all sport fangs, double on the top - the canine and and the next to it further back in the mouth. Some have small bottom canine fangs as well. If they are deprived of fresh blood their appearance begins to age, until they appear a shriveled husk. Preserved blood helps, but does not slow the aging as much as fresh, living blood. They tend to hold whatever prejudices they had in life, though many also develop a hatred for those who observe organized religion due to their persecution of vampires as a whole. They are shapeshifters, and can take on the form of a massive crow, a large cat-like being, and a half-beast form with bat-like features. Genders are whatever their races believed in life, though some are more open minded than others. Their professions tend to be a mix of everything, as vampires come from all walks of life. Their strength, speed, sight, and smell are all super-human, on par with that of a wolf. They are extremely susceptible to fire, but running water is unpleasant to them, and sunlight can be deadly without proper magical clothing to protect themselves. Finally, their magic affinity is for infernal specifically, though many still retain some elemental talent. Ghouls - Another undead sub-race, these are re-animated corpses who have retained their minds. They are a rare subset of zombies who are not husks without a soul, and while they too crave flesh, they can control this urge and live relatively normal lives. They can be any race, aside from vampires. Their skin can range from dull grey or white to green or blue. It can also be a faded, mottled variation of their skin tone when alive. They tend to have at least mild decomposition, though the amount varies. They can (and sometimes do) replace missing flesh or limbs with a replacement from a fresh corpse. Ghouls tend to most closely resemble whatever race they were in life, but due to the ability to replace limbs, they may not fully follow those traits. Their eyes are pale - either grey, white, or light blue. Very rarely there is no visible iris, and even more rarely no pupil either. Their hair faded, but close to its original color and strangely can still grow. Genders, beliefs, and prejudices are what they were in life, with rare exceptions, though they have a distinct hatred for those who created ghouls and zombies, as well as the upper classes who often reject them. Their strengths are few, but include no need to breathe or eat to function, nor do they need sleep often - only an hour of inactivity in a dark space every night. They can function without limbs, and live so long as their heads remain intact - even if they are separated from a body or attached to an entirely different one. Weaknesses are many - fire is deadly to them and their bodies erupt and disintegrate quickly if even brushed with it. Celestial magic can destroy them, and hurts rather than heals. Sunlight slows them, and makes them groggy unless they cover themselves from head to toe. As for magick, they struggle with all types, with very little affinity remaining. On the rare occasion one is still able to tap into it to a useable extent, it is almost always infernal magick. Wraith - The final type of undead do not have a constant corporeal form. They are spirits who are bound to the mortal realm by sheer force of will. They are the most rare and dangerous of the undead recognized as citizens. Most are centuries old and keep to themselves, but a rare few enjoy engaging with the living. All races, even vampires and ghouls, can become a wraith. Their appearance is similar to that of the stereotypical grim reaper, with their body from the knees down being completely invisible and wispy going up just a bit from there. Most of them are black or grey in appearance, with hooded robes, but some are able to will a more individual appearance, with pale, washed out features or robes of other colors. When they become physical in form, they most often retain that look, with booted feet appearing as well. Those who focus extra energy can appear as they did in life, just washed out, with glowing blue eyes. They often leave behind their prejudices, preferring to focus on the today and tomorrow, making connections. Wraiths have virtually no weaknesses when in their incorporeal form, though celestial magick can banish them from a location temporarily. They cannot be harmed, but neither can they harm. In their physical form, all magick types can harm them, as can typical injuries. Enough pain or damage will shock them back to their incorporeal form. They cannot be destroyed without a complex ritual. Finally, their magic types are elemental, though they can also, to a limited degree, cast infernal and celestial magick. Aetherial magick is hard, but not impossible and once they've mastered it, it is their strongest. Professions: Can continue what they were in life or become hunters. Some work with the criminal underworld. Werefolk Lifespan: unknown. Most werefolk are hunted and killed. Oldest known is 700, and going strong. Appearance: In their humanoid forms, they appear nearly identical to their non-werefolk counterparts. There are a few small tells, however. Their eyes have a shine in the darkness that others do not possess. Their nails are somewhat sharper, and they have a more mane-like head of hair. All their teeth are slightly sharper than they should be. Their werefolk forms vary, depending on what animal they take after. There are always slight differences between the actual animal and the were-beast, ranging from shorter muzzles or ears, to extra limbs or human-like eyes. The two most common creatures are bears and wolves, but big and small cats, rodents, and crows have also been seen. There are rumors other birds as well as amphibians but nothing confirmable, as of yet. The form is not determined by the sire who bit or birthed them, but by their own genetics and personality. As such the player gets to choose what they feel best fits their character. Born werefolk have more control over their shifting than those who are turned. Prejudices: Werefolk have a distinct dislike of elves, due to how haughty they could be toward them, but no actual hatred. They are very pack oriented, so those who refuse to care for the pack, or the city, or the country - or whatever they feel is important as a whole - are the ones they feel distinct hatred for. Gender: They see gender as a spectrum, with many different options possible. That said, they will choose pronouns and gender representation to closely align with those they live among. Professions: All professions are possible, but they do well as rangers and trackers, as well as foresters and hunters. Many enlist with the military, or work in private mercenary groups. Anything working with animals is something they excel at. Magick: Werefolk almost exclusively use elemental magick, and those who are turned lose connection with their former affinities, though this can be regained with work. Most find it easier to focus on elemental instead, however. Of the different elemental magicks, nature is their strongest. Weaknesses: Full moons cause those who were turned to lose control of their forms, and many also lose their minds to the animalistic instincts and need to hunt. New moons cause the opposite, trapping them in their humanoid form, with no access to their stronger senses and abilities. Silver is poisonous to them, and in the bloodstream can weaken them. A silver bullet or stake through the heart will kill them. A note: All races can be turned to werefolk, aside from undead (but werefolk can be turned to wraiths or ghouls). Hybrids Lifespan: varies. Dwelfs - 2000. Half-dwarves - 500. Half-elves - 1000. Dhampirs - immortal. All can be killed, generally taking after the more hardy parent. Appearance: Dwelves can be any combination of elf & dwarf features, but all are bearded. Half-dwarves are generally as tall as their human half, only stockier, have full beards, but otherwise can take after either parent race. Half-elves almost always take more after their elf parent, though their ears are shorter and they may not be as androgynous. Dhampirs are pale, and often take after their father - human dhampirs are common, while elf dhampirs are uncommon, and dwarf dhampirs are almost unheard of. Prejudices: Whatever their more outspoken guardian or parent's prejudices are. Gender: Beliefs reflect that of their parents. Professions: Any number of professions. Magick: Their magic tends to take after whichever parent race is strongest in them. Weaknesses: Dhampirs become extremely ill in sunlight, must consume blood every other week, and must eat a small amount of regular food each day - they are sensitive to spices and strong flavors. A note: While most hybrids are accepted, dhampirs generally are not and struggle to survive unless a kind soul or stubborn parent refused to give them up.

CANONS & OCS Canons Canons may be drawn from any world we've not restricted. You can pull them from any point in their story, including well before or after the 'recorded' info. We allow various AU variations onsite, so feel free to have at it - just check to make sure your AU isn't almost identical to another, or find ways to merge the two if it is. In the case of multiple versions (books, comics, shows, etc.), each writer may choose their preferred to pull from regardless of what others have chosen for theirs. With that said, if characters are from different versions, any connections and differences must be worked out with players already onsite. Original If you have an original with connections to a canon, please ask them before assuming the connection is okay. If they're not in-game, please talk to the game GMs or mods. Original characters from fandom worlds must follow that world's lore. Self inserts are allowed on a case by case basis. Both Maximum power levels must be less than that of a minor D&D god.. If you're unsure on this, feel free to ask! All new characters must arrive during the current season they were claimed in unless worked out with staff ahead of time. Foresight only catches vague glimpses if it's something they can control, and detailed but random visions if they can't control when they see things. If you'd like to glimpse things from main game plots, reach out to staff! Space, time and matter manipulation and anything else that could drastically change the setting must be toned down or completely removed. Anything toned down or removed can be blamed on the aether that stole them away - things don't always go as expected. ARRIVAL Locals are those who are either from the kingdom or who have newly moved to the kingdom. Those who've relocated to the kingdom are generally from the middle or lower classes of other kingdoms and who want a chance to be equals with those who were once above them. Those who are stolen from other worlds were ripped there using aether magick. The aether went awry and instead of summoning demons from the underworld, it ripped into other realms and stole people from them. The magick opened these pathways permanently on the kingdom's side, but they connect sporadically on the other end, and it's always random when and where they will grab someone from. It's a fast trip once the aether's locked on - they see a flash of deep reddish light, which swirls around them, have a moment of disorientation, and then find themselves on the summoning platforms where the demons were to arrive. Characters can be pulled from any point, including after death. People have been being pulled through for a handful of years at this point, starting during the middle of the first war, all through the rebellion and up to present day. The first war started 5 in the past and ended 3 years ago, the rebellion started only 2 months later and lasted a year. The new king took charge after that. It's been a time of peace in the 2 years since since.

It is the last remaining functional city of a once great nation. Having fallen on hard times, all are forced to work together in order to rebuild what once was. While the current ruler is a fair and just one, scars remain from the former tyrant, and trust is hard to rebuild. Five years ago the Mad King waged a brutal war on his nearest neighbor, drafting all able bodied adults to fight for him, on pain of death - that of their loved ones' - if they refused. As the bloody campaign continued on, other nations began to object, only to find themselves declared enemies as well, and their ambassadors killed. To add insult to injury, those ambassadors' heads were returned to their homelands with letters threatening more of the same should they try to interfere. This was met with outrage and disbelief, and before long Estion found itself at war with everyone on the continent. Desperate to bolster his faltering ranks, the king ordered the court magicians and mages to open portals to the underworld to summon demons to be enslaved as new warriors to fight the king's battles. Though the first portal did just what it was supposed to, the rest of those opened malfunctioned. Many scholars believed it was due to the proximity to the original, though the actual cause has never been discovered. Instead of drawing in demons and other minions from the underworld, these portals tore through the fabric of reality and opened into other realms, and then ripped inhabitants of those realms through to Chiselwall. Though this was not the intended outcome, the King simply enslaved those summoned instead, sending most to the war's front lines to die, or settling them in the hospitals and farms where they were worked 18 hours a day to heal the wounded and sick or produce food at an accelerated rate. Despite all these additional numbers to wage war, the kingdom continued to suffer losses, until they were reduced to only their capital province and city. Forced to sign a peace treaty, the king turned his madness and anger on his own subjects, beginning to order purges of those he saw as lesser or of no use to him. Also caught in his crosshairs were those who he felt had betrayed him during the war, or anyone who dared breathe a word of objection. It wasn't long before some of those torn from their realities banded together alongside locals who'd had enough of their king, and a bloody and even more brutal civil war was fought, resulting in the death of about half of those left in the kingdom. Though the loss of life was devastating the king was, at last, overthrown and put to death. Though there were many who argued that they had the right to take over as king, it was one of the Lords who'd been drafted after his family fell out of favor during the first war that was eventually chosen to replace the old king. He was reluctant, preferring to advise others rather than rule himself, but it was that reluctance that sealed the deal with nearly everyone in the kingdom. In the 2 years since, he has done his best to rule fairly and justly, and has completely redone the laws and constitution of the land. The most recent ruling he made was establishing a task force to study the portals to try and shut them down, as well as to find a way to send those stolen from other worlds home if they wished to leave.

  23. Elzpeth was visibly panting at this point and sweat was dripping from her forehead as she stumbled through another invocation, her movements sluggish as the healing spell fizzled out and failed entirely for lack of anything to fuel it. Letting out a frustrated sigh as her chest heaved with exertion the Dwarven woman paused to try and catch her breath. "Ah'm sorry Arthas..." She stopped speaking to take a series of deep breaths before continuing. "...Ah don' know how much more help Ah'll be able ta be without a rest mehself. Ah'm runnin' on fumes..." It didn't make any sense to her; she was in excellent physical condition and while she hadn't used her magic anywhere near this much in years she refused to believe that she was this rusty. Breathing heavily as her unexpected fatigue and overexertion caught up with her, Elzpeth glanced up at Khadgar with a forced smile. "If yer payin'..." She paused mid sentence to suck in several rapid breaths before continuing. "...for the drinks Ah'd be happy to talk sometime..." She paused against to replenish her air supply before finishing what she'd been trying to say. "...'though Ah can't imagine what a Archmage like yerself would want with a simple worker like me. It ain't like Ah'm anyone special like Arthas or Varian."
  24. Thancred's shoulders slumped a little. "Well, there's a bother. Sorry, I should probably explain - back in my world.. universe, whatever you wish to call it - our one world was split into a core planet, the "Source" and thirteen reflections of such. On the Source, we have a race whom are known as the Mi'qote.. feline-looking humanoids, like yourself. So, I naturally assumed you may have been a fellow.. uh, Displaced, you said? Yes, Displaced from the Source. But I see I was wrong, and I apologize, dear fellow." The Hyur looked around again, taking in some more sights before looking at Valentin. "So, Chiselwall. A place where an old King went mad, opened portals to summon.. demons to fight, those must be like voidsent.. and instead got adventurers?" He used the catch-all term for those of a braver bent, having spent a lot of his time around such individuals including the Warrior of Light.. well.. or so they were called for the time being. After the events of Holminster Switch, they'd taken the moniker "Warrior of Darkness" instead. "Well.. if there's absolutely no way back... and that worries me immensely, mainly because of my ward, Minfilia and the fact that said teenager is now alone... I guess I had best start making the most of it. Though... yes, it'll take time to adjust. Oh. How rude of me." "Thancred Waters. Scion of the Seventh Dawn, Gunbreaker." He held out his hand, assuming Valentin had a free hand to shake. "And I would like to take you up on your offer if you have the time..." He trailed off, waiting for the Nyap to introduce himself."
  25. Though he wasn't always great at reading others - not yet anyway, not like back home - he could tell the gears were turning in the other man's head. It was a puzzling situation, finding yourself in this realm. More puzzling for some than others, from what he'd learned. There were worlds far more advanced than this, while others had practically no technology at all. His world had similar technology, and magic besides - not that he'd been any good with it there or here. The man's words confirmed his suspicions that the human was new. His fluffy tail remained curled around his legs as he listened, though mention of something called the Source confused him, and he frowned a bit, ears drawing back. The mention of the thirteen shards and the First puzzled him further and he gave a slight shrug and shook his head in apology. "I am unfamiliar with the Source, the First, and these Thirteen Shards that you speak of, unfortunately. You have found yourself in Chiselwall. This is a world apart from yours, I'm afraid. And as of yet, we have no way back home. The old king here - mad as he was - had portals opened to draw demons in to fight for him in a war, but something went wrong and he got folks like us instead." Valentin grimaced, rolling his shoulders some. "I've been here about... two years at this point, I believe. It's not a bad place now, as the old king was dealt with by one of us - the displaced - when it became clear he wanted to keep all those who came through the portals essentially enslaved." The massive nyap passed off his armload to one of the welcome committee, then turned his full attention back to Thancred. "It's a lot to take in, but I'd be happy to give you a more detailed rundown as well as one of those bundles they grabbed from me. Or a tour of the city. It's pretty overwhelming at first, regardless of whether the world's similar to yours or not."
  26. Thancred stopped as the Mi'qote looking gentleman addressed him. Well, there was a familiar sight, eh? A Mi'qote on this side of the portals? Maybe he was on one of the Shards instead of a completely different world or dimension. Who knew? He didn't, he was still trying to figure out all of... this. "Ah, yes, hello dear fellow.. I suppose I am new "here", wherever this is. Please tell me I've either returned to the Source, or I'm on one of the Thirteen Shards other than the First? And would you happen to be... a Mi'qote from the Source who also wound up here?" He asked, running a hand through that white spiky hair of his, stepping out of the doorway as he did so. Though, now that he thought about it, the last time Thancred had ever saw such structures was... oh, hells. Garlemald. Twelve Forfend.
