The youngling looked up from more or less playing with the food he'd been given. He was happy. Things were peaceful, he was with the man he'd adopted as his father and his 'Uncle' Boba, with Auntie Fennec keeping guard nearby. They weren't running for a change, giving all of them a chance to relax and just... be. He took a bite of his food, ears perking up as he turned to look at Boba while he spoke. He looked at his food in his hand, then up to his dad. He didn't like it when people commented about the quiet. It tended to not end we-
His ears perked up again as a familiar presence got close enough for him to pick up on, and his eyes lit up. He looked at the floor, then jumped down and started to make his way to the door. He knew that presence, and while she annoyed him at times, she was safe, and she cared about him. That's what mattered.
Though he'd established his hold on Mos Espa, things were still tense and his method of rule had been challenged repeatedly. Annoying though it was, he was slowly but surely establishing the Fett gotra there and ensuring that the new laws he'd implemented were followed. Ruling with respect had not been easy - too many wanted to backstab each other, turn against him, or go to work with a rivaling crime family or syndicate.
Din and Grogu had been staying with him for the past three days, and he'd been happy to have their company, even if Fennec wasn't nearly as thrilled. He'd also gotten a rather cryptic message from one of the surviving clones - something about coming to hide out for a while and maybe pick up a few bounties. There'd not been enough info included for him to pinpoint which soldier it was, but he'd grown close to several.
Lounging on the throne in his palace, he glanced around and sighed. They still needed to clean the place up more - while it didn't have the stench of before, there was still an undertone of foulness to the air. Getting it brighter was a bit harder if you wanted natural light, so he'd had to settle for upgraded lighting systems. Tapping the fingers of his left hand in a rhythm, he looked to the side where Din was feeding Grogu.
"We should go check up on the ship - she took quite a beating on our last set of bounties and I want her in prime condition before we leave. Should give us something to do as well. It's strangely, and suspiciously quiet today. Too quiet."
He expected that peaceful quiet to be interrupted at any point now, with some crisis or another derailing their plans to hunt.
